Verbascum L. Cinci is widespread in Turkey's vegetation, being mostly endemic. The plant, known as cattle tail in Anatolia, is a plant that is frequently used in Europe, Asia and North America. It is among the E Commission monographs in Germany and is registered in the German Pharmaceutical Codex.

Mullein flowers contain about 3% water-soluble mucopolysaccharides (mucilage polysaccharides). In addition, approximately 1.54% flavonoids (apigenin, luteolin and their 7-O-glycosides and kempferol and rutin), caffeic acid derivatives (caffeic, ferulic, protocatechuic acid and verbascoside), iridoid monoterpenes (aukubin, 6-b-xyloxyaukubin, methylcatalpol, isocatalpol), triterpenic saponins (verbaskosaponin), sterols and 11% invert sugar (fructose + glucose).
Preparation of
While preparing tea, it should be avoided to put hot water on the drug or to boil the water.
For tea making, 1.5-2 g of the drug is brewed in 150-250 ml of hot water for 10-15 minutes with the mouth closed. It is drunk twice a day.
Or, for decoction, 1.5-2 g of the drug is boiled in 150-250 ml of cold water for 10 minutes with the mouth closed, filtered. It is drunk twice a day.
Store in a dry place at room temperature.
