Bilberry flavonoids (quercitrin, rhamnocitrin, apigenin-7-glycoside, chemferol, quercetin, luteolin); phenolic acids and tannins, mainly rosmarinic acid (4%) and glycosides of caffeic and chlorogenic acids; triterpenes (ursolic, oleanolic acids); essential oil (0.05-0.375%) (monoterpene citronellal 30-40%, geranial (citral a) and neral (citral b) 10-30%, sesquiterpenes-ß-caryophyllene, germakren D).
General Information
It is a perennial aromatic herb that grows naturally in the Eastern Mediterranean regions and Western Asia, and is widely cultivated all over Europe.

Drug (Used part): The leaves (Melissae folium) contain a low percentage of essential oil. It was determined that plants of Anatolian origin contain 0.015% -0.1% essential oil. It also contains Rosmarinic acid and Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives. If it is to be prepared as tea; 150 ml of hot water is poured on 1 teaspoon (1.5 g) of leaf liquor, left covered for 5 minutes, filtered. It is recommended to drink 3-4 times a day.
